SUMMARY:GYP Impact @ Project Kids Eat
DESCRIPTION:The Gwinnett Young Professionals will join forces with the organizers of PROJECT KIDS EAT (PKE) on Friday\, June 20 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM to pack and deliver meals to local children living in extended stay hotels. These children often face food insecurity when school is not in session\, missing out on the consistent breakfast and lunch they typically receive during the academic year. Sadly\, food insecurity can increase a child’s vulnerability to exploitation\, as traffickers sometimes use basic needs—like food—as a tool for manipulation. \nThis hands-on service opportunity reflects GYP’s commitment to creating real impact in our community. By helping pack and deliver lunches\, we hope not only to meet an immediate need but also to raise awareness about the often-overlooked issue of child hunger in Gwinnett. Many of these families live just miles away from our homes and offices. This is a chance to show up\, support\, and make a tangible difference. \nProject Kids Eat is an outreach of Campus Church\, located at 1525 Indian Trail Road. Each weekday during the summer\, PKE relies on volunteers to serve over 160 children with reliable\, nutritious meals.
