SUMMARY:GYP Impact: Jr. Achievement of Georgia
DESCRIPTION:WHAT ARE GYP IMPACT EVENTS? \nWe partner with various local non-profits to provide avenues for young adults to utilize their sphere of influence to positively impact others. Through these partnerships\, we are able to offer young professionals in Gwinnett a myriad of different volunteer and community service opportunities. For this GYP Impact event\, we are partnering with Junior Achievement of Georgia and we will be volunteering on November 3rd at their Discovery Center in Gwinnett. \nJUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT DISCOVERY CENTER AT GWINNETT\nEvery year more than 25\,000 middle school students from Gwinnett County Public Schools have the opportunity to take part in JA BizTown and JA Finance Park. Located on the campus of Discovery High School in Lawrenceville\, the high-impact education center allows middle school students to experience learning like never before. Following a series of in-class lessons\, the JA Discovery Center brings education to life and provides students with an immersive learning experience that gives them a glimpse of what their futures can entail. Click here to take a look inside the facility. \nVolunteer Role\nSee volunteers in action: Click Here for our Volunteer Video \nYou will coach a small group of students through the simulation\, while sharing your life experiences that will help make the day authentic for the students. In JA Finance Park\, you’ll help students make the connection between their education and career\, career and income\, and ultimately their income and lifestyle. You will help them discover the value of themselves\, their education\, and their future beyond the classroom walls. No matter your profession\, your life experiences qualify you to be a successful volunteer! Please read our volunteer waiver in advance. You will receive an online version to sign during the sign-up process. \nJA Finance Park\nSee what the students do: Click Here for our Program Video \nEvery child has a dream\, a vision for what their future can be. SUMMARY:Mentor & Guide Students at JA Finance Park
DESCRIPTION:JA brings the real world to students\, opening their minds to their full potential by bridging the business and education communities. The hallmark of JA is its unique use of business and community volunteers who deliver lessons that equip students with the knowledge and skills to succeed. The dynamic interaction between students and volunteers promotes active learning and brings theory to life\, while also allowing students to see a real-world model of someone who can demonstrate the value of business on a first-hand basis. These learning experiences establish the foundation on which young people can build the skills and attitudes necessary to succeed in a fast-paced world. \nVolunteer
