Crews

The idea behind Crews came from an awareness of our need for community and vulnerability. We recognize that in order to truly grow, we must have a safe space for that to happen as well as a group of people to hold us accountable.

What are Crews?

We like to think of Crews as our version of small groups. Each of our Journey Leadership Institute participants are split up into groups of 5-8 people. Each of those Crews are led by a Crew Leader. Journeyers meet with their Crews once a month in between the Journey workshops. During these Crew meetings, Journeyers are led into deeper conversations surrounding the content they learned in the monthly workshops.

What is a Crew Leader?

Our Crew Leaders have a dual-purpose as a facilitator and a mentor. Their role is to coordinate when/where their Crews meet as well as facilitate the conversation during the meeting.

How do I apply to be a Crew Leader?

In order to apply, you must be a graduate of the Journey Leadership Institute and be enrolled in the Journey Alumni Program. Please note, the application process and selection is extremely competitive, therefore not all applicants are guaranteed a spot as a Crew Leader.

What’s the commitment?

Attend the Journey Commencement held in August.
Facilitate eight monthly in-person meetings with your Crew. This translates to one meeting per month beginning in August and ending in March.
Crew Leaders must be prepared for the meetings to last anywhere between 45-90 minutes.
Attend the Milestone Celebration held in April.
